Without Borders
(Bila Hdoud)
Artworks and stories placed in a book that travels between old neighborhoods and new streets, a book that moves from hand to hand challenging geographical and physical boundaries carrying with it our stories and experiences as people who express themselves in different ways. The project revolves around creating relationships between the community members themselves using storytelling and documentation and finding the intersectionality between our stories, through collaboration between content writers who shared their personal stories, and a group of local artists who expressed these stories artistically in their own creative style.
We have documented 34 homegrown stories relating to identity, the body, trauma, and personal experiences throughout the Bila Hdoud journey since 2020. 4 writers, 2 photographers, 3 project coordinators, 32 artists all worked together to present to you three volumes of the Bila Hdoud traveling journal.
