Listening Party
Aman has hosted a listening party for Oum Kulthoum’s 'Ana Fintizarak' at the space, followed by a screening of a short visual film titled 'Oum Kulthoum's Sexuality' and facilitated by a short discussion with writer Musa Shadeedi.
The night concluded with a special performance by Reema Shatat of several segments for some of Oum Kulthoum's favorite songs where everyone gathered and listened to the words of 'Ana Fintizarak'.
The Body Concepts Guide
The Body Concepts Guide was written and designed as an attempt to understand and criticize how authority in the society imposes its hegemony and control over our bodies. While also introducing concepts that act as tools which can be used to dissolve these structural oppressions, liberating our bodies, and creating a safe unified language to face this repression without imposing more constructs, molds and restrictions on the marginalized groups that are subject to such hegemony and repression, but on the contrary, allowing these “bodies” to break away from norms, stereotypes and other identities that are imposed on them.
